A normal diet is 1200 calories… They’re not starving themselves.

A normal sized diet is NOT 1200 calories. For anyone. and yes they were starving them. You really need to do some research if you think 1200 calories is normal to eat every day. That’s not enough even for the average female looking to maintain their weight.
Any of my followers want to add to this, feel free. I can’t believe this 1200 magic number BS is still around.

It’s not bullshit actually. Are you a personal trainer? Did you study the human body and the way it works and what requirements you need for a healthy diet? The biggest loser is also on TV if you didnt notice most shows ARE dramatised.

It is BS and I have been studying it, thank you. It’s pretty apparent you haven’t if you believe 1200 is a magic number that people can live off with a good quality of life. and yes the show is dramatized. Then it gets worse off camera. Figures, leave it to Tumblr to actually have people who will defend abuse.

One of the contestants has come out about some of the extreme tactics promoted by the producers of the show, including discouraging members from resting when they’re ill, discouraging them from having electrolyte supplements when they were experiencing electrolyte imbalance and she credits the show for largely contributing to her own development of an eating disorder:http://jezebel.com/5564997/bigger-loser-finalist-says-show-gave-her-an-eating-disorder
Eating disorder organisations and medical professionals have spoken out against the show, which promotes drastic and unrealistic measures to induce excessively fast weight loss, as well as ‘fat shaming’ and often humiliating tactics designed to rake in the ratings.
One girl I know said her friend applied for the show and was told that he wasn’t “fat enough” and needed to gain more weight before they would consider him.
This show is unhealthy in so many ways and does nothing to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle or address the underlying issues which led these people to develop their eating disorders in the first place.
Fuck The Biggest Loser.
